Our Level 2 Creative Expressive Well-being groups aim to be Fun, creative and expressive. Our facilitators use art, music, movement and drama to build confidence, self-esteem and friendships along with nurturing well-being.

Facilitated by fully qualified Creative Expressive Therapies graduates, and supported by trained volunteers, these fun, expressive workshops bring people with similar needs together to share in positive, energising, arts based activities.Workshops are designed to suit the needs and abilities of group members, with no more than 10 people per group. We focus on nurturing self-esteem, fostering belonging, building a sense of community, enhancing well-being and enjoying ourselves. We have groups which specifically focus on using one art form - art, music, dance or drama, and groups that use an expressive mix of all of the arts.

Creative Expressive Wellbeing Groups are ideally suited to people with mild to moderate learning disabilities, autism, mental health difficulties, and physical or sensory impairments; who are able to work in a group setting with shared support. If someone faces more profound difficulties, or needs greater support we would suggest one of our other more intensive support services.

Last Week our talented Creative Expressive Specialist KJ mixed things up a bit in her group. The individual’s in this group have been in positions in the past where they have not been given a voice or the opportunity to express themselves. KJ went in with a very open plan and empowered the individuals to make decisions and explore creative problem solving through allowing them the freedom to lead and direct the workshop. KJ’s flexibility in her planning meant that she could adapt and respond to the individual’s needs in the moment, the individuals had increased self-confidence, developed communication skills and felt listened to. Through KJ being a figure of support and guidance, the individuals felt able to make choices for themselves in a safe, encouraging and inspiring environment with appropriate and varied resources.

This origional and imaginative creation was the result of the session. This person represents positive attributes of the people who in the clients lives, the person acts as model of identity, culture, experience and history of the clients.
