WHO ARE INSPIRATIVE ARTS?
Inspirative Arts Derby Community Interest Company (CIC) is a social enterprise based in Derby City Centre. Since 2009 we have been developing and delivering high quality arts for health and wellbeing and arts psychotherapy services for vulnerable people and the people who care for them. Inspirative Arts is cared for by a board of trustees who are legally responsible for the running of the organisation, and ensuring it is compliant with UK law and operating standards.
THE SHADOW BOARD
Inspirative Arts have a shadow board whose job it is to capture the views of clients, their carers, and the people who support them. They are experts by experience, directing the board and influencing decision-making to ensure our services absolutely meet the needs of the people who use them.
WHO MAKES A SHADOW BOARD?
Anybody can express interest in joining the shadow board, including both adults and children. We particularly encourage client / learners who have accessed our services in the past or present, parents or carers, professionals who have an interest in the health and social care sector and local members of the community. We want our shadow board to be diverse and to capture the essence of community in Derby and surrounding areas.
THE ROLE OF A SHADOW BOARD MEMBER
As a shadow board member you would be expected to act in the best interests of our clients and the local community. Duties and responsibilities might include advocating on behalf of clients, shaping and developing services, identifying needs within the community and supporting fundraising events.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
As a shadow board member we would ask you to attend one meeting per financial quarter, prior to our quarterly board meetings. Members can attend these meetings face to face or virtually and availability would be considered. We would also ask you to attend our AGM where possible, which ordinarily takes place in October.
